Standing in the gap for retired racehorses providing a safety-net through rehabilitation, education, & placement in qualified, caring homes.

Will (Wacky Wild) and I have been having a great time together since I adopted him 4 years ago.He is the 3rd OTT Thoroughbred I have purchased but the 1st I have ever purchased from an organization such as yours. I enjoy retraining these intelligent animals and I must say that Will, by far, has the best ground manners of ANY horse I have worked with. Kudos to the previous owners who were also his trainer & jockey when he was on the track. Will has demonstrated that same cool, calm manner under saddle and we have enjoyed extensive trail riding, hunter paces, jumping in the arena and most recently 2 full seasons of Foxhunting. I will never forget his first day out. He was so quiet, cool and took any jump I asked. I had several people come up to me & ask how long had he been hunting because he was ideal. When I told them it was his first time their mouths hit the ground. I cannot say enough great things about this perfect, sweet gentleman. I have had to keep him at friends’ places during the summer because he does seem to be somewhat allergic to the gnats here on the coast. Last summer he stayed near Tryon, NC at an all girls’ summer camp as a lesson horse & did beautifully. This summer he is taking a well deserved break hanging with some other geldings in a large pasture at a friend’s farm in Camden, SC. I will pick him up in Sept. & start riding and have him go out cubbing with the hounds. He has his 2 other buddies Pedro & JV here at our home which I know they will be happy to see him again. It’s really been great that I have friends where he can stay where it’s cooler & less buggier during the summer. Looks like Camden will be his summer home from here on out. I really applaud what you folks do at New Vocations & only wish I had more acreage where I could purchase a couple more & work with them. I really believe the Thoroughbred is one of the most intelligent breeds & absolutely love them! Keep doing what you are doing & I will continue to spread the word about your wonderful organization!
