It is very rare that we get horses that have earned over one million dollars but we have two in the program: Blueridge Western and Noble Falcon. Both were trained and raced in the same stable for years and retired together at their owner’s farm in 2014. Feeling that they both needed a second career because they were getting bored in the field, he contacted New Vocations to help transition them into riding horses and find them the perfect new home.Thirteen year old, Noble Falcon, is by the Hall of Fame Ohio Sire, Nobleland Sam. Falcon saw early success as a two and three year old winning Ohio Sires Stakes and a Ohio Breeders Championship. As a three year old he was purchased for $77,000 and moved to New Jersey were he continued his winning ways. From ages 4 to 9 Noble Falcon won 46 times and earned $1 million dollars with an average of 40 starts per year! His trainer Kevin McDermott described him as his Foiled Again! “He has the greatest personality in the world” said McDermott. His great personality is matched by his love of all kinds of food. From candy orange slices to Fruit Loops, this kind gelding loves it all! He has a ton of personality, and just as his name implies, is very noble with a sharp-minded demeanor. He seems to be a natural leader in any herd, he’s very smart and usually has things figured out before all the others do. Falcon is best suited for an intermediate rider that wants to ride recreationally, around the farm or on the trails. He is pacing bred, but prefers to trot under saddle. This wise gelding has seen it all from the county fair setting to the large racetracks in the city. Noble Falcon has seen it all. He is very nice to work with and wants to please. We would love to see him get adopted with his other millionaire best friend, Blueridge Western, but it is not required. The two geldings have been together and on the same farm since 2014. Noble Falcon could be an excellent ambassador for the breed in many different venues. In 2009 he raced his best friend, Blueridge Western, in an exhibition race at the Orleans County Fair in Vermont and won pacing the fastest mile in the state’s history! Noble Sam has had a fantastic racing career, enjoyed a few years of retirement but loves having a job. He is fully transitioned to a riding horse and looking for someone to enjoy riding and showing him off. Not many people can own a millionaire racehorse and Noble Falcon is all that and more!
