Lucky Lurie is one cool customer. He does not get his feathers ruffled about anything, although he does get pretty stoked about feed time. He is in absolutely no hurry to get anywhere. You feel like you are dragging him to and from turnout. He stands almost like a statue for the farrier, photos ,grooming…etc. Lurie is a confident individual and one of the herd leaders. He is usually first or second at the gate for breakfast(although he is last by the time you walk all the way to the barn!) He does not have any stall vices.
Under saddle, we have not found anything that spooks this guy. Lurie walks around with an air of confidence that you would expect from a racehorse who is multiple stakes placed! He has loaded on the trailer for a quick trip to a nearby park and was foot perfect on a loose rein the whole time. Lurie takes a bit of inspiring to get in to the trot but once going he goes on cruise control. He is good with his leads and is an ultra consistent ride. Lurie is suitable for advanced beginner riders who have a trainers guidance. He is best suited for flatwork but could do some occasional jumping for recreation.
