King of Diamonds also known as King’s is a big love, he enjoys being brushed and is affectionate. Standing 16.1h tall, he is a great size for most riders. He enjoys turnout in the field with his pasture mate (Issheit, a 9 yr. old mare that is also available for adoption.) He ties well with a wall tie in the stalls or crossties in the wash stall. We do not tie horses in the aisle of the barn. He is mannerly for leading and does not have any stall vices, however he is difficult to shoe. We continue to work with him on picking up his feet in a relaxed environment.
Under saddle, King is currently working on establishing rhythm and relaxation! He has a soft mouth and goes on light contact. He is accepting of the rider’s leg. He is a push ride, working on maintaining an even rhythm. He has rehabbed from tendonitis in his left front leg in March of 2017 and has been cleared for light jumping and most pleasure riding activities. He needs to continue groundwork, flatwork and trails for a couple more months before introducing poles and jumps. He would make an excellent hunter, dressage, pleasure, and eventually a low level jumping mount for an experienced adopter. He is eligible for the Pony Club Challenge only to Horse Masters or B level member or above.
