Description

Winner of over $1.6 million dollars, stoic and all class Blueridge Western has had a story book racing career with 48 wins in some of the most illustrious harness races in North America- this horse is truly a star!  From the Matron to the Levy finals his winning ways shine through in everything he does.Purchased for $240,000( at age 4) at the Harrisburg Sale, his looks and conformation are on point! Blueridge Western raced against Somebeachsomewhere, Shadow Play and Foiled Again!  Retired in 2014 he has been turned out with his stablemate and best friend, Noble Falcon, who also earned over one million dollars.  The two warhorses were needing something to do and their very conscientious owner came to New Vocations for our assistance. The two boys have transitioned easily to riding horses and are now ready for their second careers! For adopters looking for two geldings to adopt together, these two could not be more perfect.

Blue has a couple years of retirement under his belt already- but at only 12 years of age, he still has a lot of living left to do! And, so much to offer his adopter in way of companionship. He’s got a fabulous and willing personality, gets along well in turnout with other geldings, stands on the crossties for all aspects of his care, and is very quiet and kind to work around in general.  Blueridge Western has received impeccable care and it shows in all he does.

Blue picked up riding like he has been doing it his entire life! Blue has a trot that’s easy to ride. He’d do best with an intermediate rider that is looking for a horse to mosey around the farm on and spoil with affection. This 16 hand gelding would make the perfect Standardbred ambassador as horses like this do not come around all the time. This very special gelding loves attention and wants to please and loves having a purpose again. This pretty gelding has seen it all and with that type of resume brings so much to his new home. He is very special and once you are around him, you can see why he was so successful on the track and he is ready to shine off the track!
