Alvina is a a petite powerhouse with a lovable sweet nature. Her impressive pedigree didn’t shine through at the track, and she retired sound after only 7 starts. She is very athletic, and is learning to maintain balance and rhythm in all gaits while still working on picking up correct leads. She hacks around the farm alone or with company, is very willing and trainable, and within only 8 weeks of training she began jumping small courses with ease. Alvina is best suited for an ambitious and patient intermediate rider and we think she would do well in jumpers or eventing, but could also really enjoy and excel in hunter paces and endurance/competitive trail riding, and mounted games.

She spends her mornings (and afternoons) snoozing in her doubt, saving up energy to buzz around under saddle. She is quiet in the barn, waits patiently in cross ties, and is easy to handle on the ground. Day or night turnout is fine with her, she currently goes out with a mixed group and spends her time happily munching grass. She dislikes bugs, and gets suited up from nose to tail in fly gear to keep her happy as a clam for turnout, and she can be fussy trying to rid herself of their biting while under saddle.

Alvina is Retrained & Remarkable Challenge eligible. As such she will receive a shipping credit of up to $500, and an invitation to compete in Challenge-specific classes at the 2019 New Vocations Charity Horse Shows in Kentucky and Ohio. R&R adopters who choose to participate in the competition will be eligible to compete for $5,000 in cash and prizes; they will also receive a FREE stall at either Charity horse show and FREE entry into Challenge classes.
